We don't collect anything

This site is made for young readers and their families, so we keep it as simple as we can.

The short version

  • No accounts and no sign-up forms.
  • No cookies.
  • No ads, no tracking, no analytics.
  • No comments, chat or messages.
  • We never ask for a name, an email address, an age or a location.

What the site itself does

Every page is a plain web page. The pictures and fonts are stored with the site, so your browser doesn't contact any other company to show them. The only script on the site slowly scrolls the world map on small screens and stops the moment you touch it. It records nothing, and we save nothing on your device.

Who hosts the site

The site is hosted by GitHub Pages, a service run by GitHub, Inc. Like any web host, GitHub's servers see the technical details any browser sends when it asks for a page, such as an IP address. GitHub may keep those details for a short time to keep its service secure. We don't receive them and we can't see them. You can read GitHub's privacy statement for the details.

The web address is registered and pointed to GitHub through Cloudflare's DNS. That only tells your browser where to find the site, and it doesn't put any tracking on these pages.

The "Share with a grown-up" button

That button opens the email app on your own device with a short message already written. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it, and it never comes to us.

If we ever add a sign-up

One day we may offer news by email. If we do, it will be for parents and grown-ups only, we'll explain exactly what we keep and why on this page first, and every email will have an easy way to stop.

Children

We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, and that includes children. Nothing on this site asks for it.
